About - Karen González Videla
I am a wildlife and conservation photographer. I was born in Capital Federal in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At only nine years old, I moved to a small coastal town in Buenos Aires called Claromecó, where I believe my true love for nature began. There, I got to see right whales splashing their tails in the wintertime and foxes crossing the isolated roads. At eleven years old, I moved with my parents and my sisters to the United States, and I have lived in Florida ever since. Here, I became exposed to many new animals: alligators, manatees, dolphins, cranes, blackbirds, snapping turtles, and so much more! Every single animal that I have seen in my lifetime, be it in Argentina, Florida, or elsewhere, I have fallen in love with in some shape or form.
Although my love for nature and its wildlife began a long time ago, my passion for photography arrived much later. I received my first camera as a college graduation gift in December of 2021. Since then, I have spent my free time learning all the different ways to photograph nature and the problems it faces. My goal is to show you how I see the natural world, and to inspire you, your friends, and everyone else to take even a few steps toward conservation.
Our planet is a beautiful one, and we have both the responsibility and the opportunity to protect it.
